What is a prime number?
A whole number greater than 1 that can not be made by multiplying other whole numbers. It has exactly two factors; 1 and itself.
What is a composite number?
A whole number that can be made by multiplying other whole numbers. They have more than two factors.
What are the names of 8 polygons?
3 sides - Triangle, 4 sides - Quadrilateral, 5 sides - Pentagon, 6 sides - Hexagon, 7 sides - Heptagon, 8 sides - Octagon, 9 sides - Nonagon, 10 sides - Decagon.
What does divisible mean?
When dividing by a certain number gives a whole number answer.
What is a factor?
Numbers we can multiply together to get another number. Example: 2 and 3 are factors of 6, because 2 × 3 = 6. A number can have MANY factors!
What is a multiple?
A multiple is a number that can be divided by another number a certain number of times without a remainder. For example, 20 is a multiple of 4 and 5.
How do you find the area of rectangles?
Area = length X width
What is an acute angle?
It’s an angle that measures less than 90 degrees. (1-89)
What is an obtuse angle?
It’s an angle that measures more than 90 but less than 180 (91-179)
What is a right angle?
It’s an angle that measures exactly 90 degrees.
How are triangles named by their sides?
Equilateral, Isosceles, and scalene
