Materials resistance to breaking due to twisting
Compressional Strength
Material’s capacity to withstand being compressed
Toughness
Strong and durable, not easily broken
Brittle
Hard but liable to break easily
Stiffness
Rigid, tough to break or bend
Flexibility
Capability of being bent
Elasticity
Ability of an object to resume it’s original shape after being stretched or compressed
Plasticity
Quality of being easily shaped or moulded
Absorbency
Ability to take in and hold a liquid
Electrical Conductivity
Degree to which a material conducts electricity
Thermal Conductivity
Degree to which a material conducts heat
Magnetism
A material that displays properties of attraction, similar to that of a magnet
Opaque material
A material that doesn’t allow any light to pass through it
Translucent material
A material that allows some light to pass through it
