“And let the angel whom thou still hast serv’d. Tell thee, MacDuff was from his mother’s womb untimely ripp’d.”

In this quote, MacDuff ensure the witches’ prophecies is completely true. In which foreshadowing MacBeth downfall as well as MacDuff is the one to slay MacBeth. It is one of the climax in the play, perhaps the tone expressed in this quote shows how violence it is (untimely ripp’d) Again contrast is being used, to contrast between the purity, feminine-like of birth against MacDuff’s own birth, vicious and masculine.

-Act 4 scene 3(MacDuff)

“I shall do so; But I must also feel it as a man”

A

MacDuff instant reaction turning the situation into violence to remedy the situation, and associate that kind of solution is considered to be a man. The verb “feel” indicates the pain that MacDuff is going through (due to the fact that his wife and children was murdered) that may insist on his manhood. Yet, he had no time to mourned for the death of his wife and children, instead revenge. Foreshadow MacBeth’s poor view of masculinity created the enemy that will end his life.

“Prithee, peace:I dare do all that may become a man; Who dares do more is none.”

This quote shows Macbeth’s loyalty, as he is satisfied with his honors and rewards that he had already received from King Duncan. There is no need to overthrown the crown. He defending his masculine by his words of dare to do anything and everything but more than that does not.

Banquo questioned their gender when he first encounters the witches, as their typical belief in witchcraft, witches should be wicked, abominable, plus their feminine descriptions of witches or sisters, their gender are ambiguous. Their “beard” symbolize masculinity, which are seen as a hybrid between feminine and masculine.

The captain describe Macbeth as a dominant warrior, an unstoppable figures in war. His bravery, indeed, granted him his name. Suggested before tragedy happened, MacBeth was a valor soldiers, full of virility and vigorous in contrast to his pathetic, fragile characteristic later in the play.
