Francis Throckmorton was one of Spain’s chief agents and one of England’s leading Catholics and was arrested because incriminating letters were found in his house naming conspirators and talking about places to land foreign countries and it happened in 1583

Babington wrote coded letters to Mary telling her about his plans to rescue her and kill Elizabeth and make England Roman Catholic again and they placed their letters in beer kegs and Elizabeth’s key advisor Walshingham found out and got them both executed and it happened in 1586
