What is the term ‘society is criminogenic’?
It is the root of crime, due to capitalism encouraging it, which leads to competition, greed, exploitation with the goal of individual success in mind. Which leads people to do whatever it takes to achieve the goal such as crime.
What is the term ‘law is made for the rich ?’
Laws are designated to benefit the bourgeoises as law protects them, the rich stay rich and the poor stays poor.
What is ‘selective enforcement’?
Laws are enforced muse strictly among the poor, corporate crimes tend to be more leniently dealt with, whereas financial crimes committed by the poor are always pursued by law enforcement.
2 criticism of Marxist theory?
- Capitalism has produced progress in some societies.
- Some countries don’t use capitalism and is worst such as china with their concentration camps and North Korea.
What does criminogenic capitalism do?
Capitalism exploits the working class and leaves them in poverty so that they have no choice but to commit crime.
What is critical criminology?
That crime is based in class conflict and the structured inequality of class in society.
Why do criminal choose to break the law give two reasons?
- Unequal distribution of wealth, so stealing in order to redistribute the wealth in society.
- Offenders gain from committing crime.
What is are the three theories for Marxist?
