What is the Marxist perspective?
A conflict theory highlighting two opposing social classes (bourgeoisie and proletariat) which saw the proletariat as overthrowing capitalism.

The relationship between students and teachers is the same as the one between worker and employee- the correspondence principle

What is hegemonic control?
Where the dominant social class exert power using their ideology to make the proletariat accept their norms and values

Where the proletariat do not recognise that they’re being exploited by the bourgeoisie

Social institutions that spread the ideology of the ruling class.

Marxists believe that meritocracy is a myth and that to achieve you must fit the mould of society
