Q

What is surplus value?

(5pts)

A

-Key concept to understanding capitalism

-It is the difference between the value of the product produced by labor and the actual price of the labor paid out in wages

-There is no recognition of the work the worker produces, only valued for the profit they are generating, not the actual work itself

-They are only paid enough to live off of, not to make any actual profit

-Production–> commodity (purchase, consumption) –> surplus value realized (profit)—> Surplus value reinvested
