Neat = served at room temperature
Straight-up = chilled and served with no ice (think Martinis)
On the rocks clean = new ice in glass
On the rocks dirty ice = same ice used to shake

Hint: coat glass & flick the dry vermouth out

Note: Benedictine smells and tastes like flowers.
Vermouth is always poured first
Its purpose is to enhance the flavor of the cocktail – not overpower it. By pouring it first, you keep its pungent taste and aroma on the bottom.
