1) The Catholic Church is too rich and owns too much land
2) An ordinary peasant has to give 10% of his Harvest each year to the Priest
3) Bishops, Priests and Monks lived in luxury while others suffered
4) Priests didn’t live a holy life! They often had other jobs and neglected their people. They were a Bad Example!
Martin Luther was critical of Catholic Church Services. Why?
Because they were in Latin.
Ordinary people couldn’t understand the Services or the Bible because of the Latin. These people didn’t feel close to God.

People had to pay 10% of their income to the Catholic Church
What does Nationalism mean?
Nationalism was where people wanted the Church to belong to their own Country.
They don’t want interference from the Pope!
