What is a pencil?

Lines can be erased.

What is a try square?
Used to mark out right angles and accuracy of right angles.
Can be used on all metals.
What is a marking knife?
It is used on wood.
It marks cut lines.
A pencil can also be used for more accuracy.
What is a scriber?
Used on metal.
Same as marking knife, it produces cut lines.
Made out of medium or high carbon steel.
What is a marking gauge?
Used on wood only.
Used to mark parallel lines from a given edge.
The spur marks cut lines on the wood.
What is a centre punch?
Can be used on all metals.
Marks out cut dots.
Often used before drilling.
What is a Sliding bevel?
Can be used on all materials.
Like a try square but can be adjusted to any angle, not just 90 degrees.
What is a template?
A template is a given shape that can be outlined on any material and then be cut out.
