independence- schools operate similar to business and have full control
Competition- schools compete for customers (pupils)
what is parentocracy
parents have opportunity to decide which school or college they would rather attend instead of local authority choosing
what is a disadvantage of marketisation
weaker schools dont improve as they lose money to successful rivals
why will schools mostly focus on middle class pupils becuase of marketisation
concentrate on pupils who are likely to succeed to maintain league table position

money may not always be fed into education…
can cause inequalities between class of students, as poorer students can damage league table positions
