Ex: a catchy jingles

an advertisement that appears across the top of a page
Ex: it is invariably a banner ads will appear on the top of the website
Billboard(n)
a large outdoor board for displaying advertisements.
Ex: A large billboard displays how to make money
Telemarketing(n)
people in which you telephone people to see if they want to buy something
Ex: Telemarketing is invariably irritating
Ploy(n)
a clever and dishonest way of tricking someone so that you can get an advantage
Ex: tricking you by answering trivia questions is not a new ploy/ A marketing ploy
Gimmick(n)
a trick or object that makes you notice a product and wants to buy it
Ex: Telemarketing is nothing more than a gimmick/ Is it an innovation devices or it simply a gimmick
Entice(v)
to persuade someone, usually by offering them something that they want
+entice somebody/something to do something
Ex: Black Friday deals usually entice people to buy stuff
+entice away/into/from etc
Ex: The adverts entice the customer into buying things they don’t really want./ The smell of coffee from the doorway entice people to enter the shop
Rebate(n)
Amount of money that is returned to you
Ex: a tax rebate
Hard-sell
A method of selling that is very persuasive
