What is a fare table?
Shows the costs of different travel options.
What are fixed costs?
Cost incurred even if an item is not used.
What are running costs?
Costs incurred when an item is used.
What is a timetable?
A table showing arrival and departure times and destinations.
What is total operating cost?
The sum of fixed and running costs.
What is depreciation?
A reduction in the value of an asset over time.
What is licensing?
Fee paid to authorise the use of something.
What is mileage?
The distance travelled, may be in miles or km
What is a departure?
The action of leaving, especially to start a journey.
What are compass directions?
Four basic cardinal points: north, south, east and west
What are lines of latitude?
Imaginary lines that run horizontally from east to west.
What are lines of longitude?
Imaginary lines that run vertically from north to south.
What is a suburb?
An outlying district of a city, usually residential.
What are bar scales?
Presented as a picture, it means that if you placed a ruler next to this scale, you could determine how many centimetres represent the specified kilometres.
What are number scales?
A number scale such as 1:50 000 means that 1 unit on the map represent 50 000 units in real life.
