interactions - increased risk of hypertensive crisis when given with the following drugs, avoid
- midrodrine
- methylphenidate, lisdexamfetamine, phenylephrine, psuedoephedrine
interactions with B2 agonist
e.g. salbutamol, salmeterol etc
increase risk of severe hypertension when given with these drugs avoid.
interaction with linezolid
increase risk of adverse effects when given with linezolid. avoid and for 14 days after stopping MAOI
2 interactions with MAOIs
E.g. linezolid, trayncylpromine, phenelzine, isocarboxazid
MAO-Bi increase risk of adverse effects when given with these, avoid and for 14 days after stopping the MAOI
also increased risk of serotonin syndrome
selegiline directions for administration - oral lyophilisates
should be placed on the tongue and allowed to dissolve. Advise patient not to drink, rinse, or wash mouth out for 5 minutes after taking the tablet.
