Manoeuvres Flashcards
Stall recovery
Hold control column firmly
Disengage A/P & A/T
Smoothly apply nose down elevator until buffet or stick shaker stops. Nose down stab trim may be needed
Roll wings level
Advance thrust levers as needed
Retract speedbrakes
Do not change gear or flap config, except during liftoff if flaps up, call for flaps 1
Check airspeed and adjust thrust
Establish pitch attitude
Return to desired flight path
Re-engage A/P and A/T if desired
Windshear Escape
Unacceptable flight path deviations below 1,000ft AGL in excess of:
- 15 KIAS
- 500fpm vertical speed
- 5° pitch attitude
- 1 dot glideslope
- unusual thrust lever position for a significant period of time
- Disengage A/P
- Push TO/GA
- Aggressively apply max thrust
- Disconnect A/T
- Simultaneously roll wings level and rotate to 15 degrees
- Retract speedbrakes
- Follow flight director
Upset Recovery
Nose High >25NU or <10ND
Bank >45degrees or
Airspeed inappropriate for conditions
Recognise and confirm the developing situation
Disengage A/P and A/T
RECOVER:
Apply nose down elevator
Apply appropriate nose down stab trim
Reduce thrust
Roll to obtain a nose down pitch rate
COMPLETE THE RECOVERY:
When approaching the horizon roll wings level
Check airspeed and adjust thrust
Establish pitch attitude
Upset Recovery
Nose Low >25NU or <10ND
Bank >45degrees or
Airspeed inappropriate for conditions
Recognise and confirm the situation
Disengage A/P and A/T
RECOVER:
Recover from stall, if needed
Roll in shortest direction to wings level. If > 90 degrees, unload and roll
COMPLETE THE RECOVERY:
Apply nose up elevator
Apply nose up trim, if needed
Adjust thrust and drag, if needed
GPWS
Disengage A/P and A/T
Aggressively apply max thrust
Simultaneously roll wings level and rotate to an initial pitch attitude of 20 degrees
Retract speedbrakes
If terrain remains a threat, continue rotation to PLI or stick shaker or initial buffet
Do not change gear or flap configuration until terrain separation is assured
Monitor RADALT for sustained or increasing separation
When clear of terrain, slowly decrease pitch attitude and accelerate
Check position and MSA
