Manoeuvres Flashcards
1
Q
Upset Recovery - Nose Low
A
- Recognise and confirm
- Disengage autopilot and autothrottle
- Roll in shortest direction to wings level
- Apply nose up elevator
- Apply nose up trim, if required
- Adjust thrust and drag as required
2
Q
Upset Recovery - Nose High
A
- Recognise and confirm the situation
- Disengage the autopilot and autothrottle
- Apply as much as full nose down elevator and appropriate nose down stabiliser trim
- Reduce thrust
- Roll to obtain nose down pitch rate
- When approaching horizon, roll wings level
- Check airspeed and thrust
- Establish pitch attitude
3
Q
GPWS Warning
A
- Disengage the autopilot and autothrottle
- Aggressively apply maximum thrust
- Simultaneously roll wings level and rotate to an initial pitch attitude of 20 degrees
- Retract speedbrakes
- If terrain remains a threat continue rotation up to pitch limit indicator or stick shaker
- Do not change gear or flap configuration until terrain separation is assured
- Monitor radio altimeter for terrain separation
- When clear of terrain, slowly decrease pitch and accelerate
4
Q
Rejected Takeoff
A
• Simultaneously close the thrust levers, disengage the autothrottles and apply maximum brakes or monitor RTO autobrakes
• Raise SPEED BRAKE lever
• Apply reverse thrust up to maximum consistent with conditions
• Call out 60kt
• Communicate with tower and cabin
“Attention, all passengers remain seated and await further instructions”
5
Q
Windshear
A
- Disconnect autopilot
- Press TOGA
- Aggressively apply maximum thrust
- Disconnect auto throttle
- Simultaneously roll wings level and rotate to pitch of 15 degrees
- Retract speedbrakes
- Follow flight director TOGA guidance
- Do not change flap or gear configuration
- Monitor vertical speed and altitude
6
Q
Traffic Avoidance
A
- Disengage autopilot and auto throttle
* Smoothly adjust pitch and thrust to satisfy RA command
7
Q
Approach to Stall or Stall Recovery
A
- Hold control wheel firmly
- Disconnect autopilot and auto throttle
- Smoothly apply nose down elevator to reduce angle of attack
- Roll shortest direction to wings level
- Advance thrust levers
- Retract speedbrakes
- Do not change gear or flap configuration
- Check airspeed and adjust thrust
