Approved for normal ops that does not require an alternate.
Still suitable when INTER or TEMPO forecast if special holding fuel is carried.
Acceptable Airport
Forecast to be above landing minima
Available Airport
Judgement of the captain is appropriate for landing in terms of weather, airport conditions and runway length.
Return airport
Required when departure is below lowest landing minima.
Must be within 60m/421nm, above landing minima.
Alternate trigger
1000ft above intended minima
5km visibility or 2km above minima whichever is greater
Alternate criteria
Precision approach - 600ft or 200ft above intended minima
3km or 1000m above intended minima
Non Precision approach - 800ft or 200ff above intended minima
4km or 1500m above intended minima
Holding speeds
Maximum of 230kt - below 14,000ft 240kt - 14,000 - 20,000ft 265kt - 20,000 - 34,000ft .83 - above 34,000ft
280kt or M.80 if turbulent

Protection of missed approach
Jet - 2000ft ceiling 8km visibility or circling minima whichever is higher
Wellington - 1500ft ceiling and 8km for turboprops

Less than 1000ft ceiling and/or 5km visibility
Aus - les than 600ft ceiling and/or 2000m visibility
