6 sq ango ½ oz Noilly ¾ oz Carpano 2 oz Four Roses Straight --- *Stir to32ºF, then strain into chilled coupe; garnish with a sunk cherry.

Notes: Christmas Eve in 1914 during World War I, on several French battlefields, German and French soldiers laid down their arms and celebrated the holiday together. Carnam pays homage to this history by combining German whiskey with French modifiers.

Notes: Britten was aware of the spate of Brooklyn variations his colleagues had made. He says he was inspired by“watching the seasons out of the window of the bar.”
