A

“CRAM IT - CLIMB IT - CLEAN IT - CLICK IT - CDI”

MISSED APPROACH PROCEDURES:
CRAM IT: Set the power to 35”-39”, Set 10 FLAPS
CLIMB IT: Wait until you have 2 positive climb indications (+VSI and altimeter)
CLEAN IT: Retract the Landing Gear (STAY BELOW 107), Retract Flaps
CLICK IT: OBS to SUSP
CDI - Verify GPS
Turn to MA Heading while climbing to MA Altitude
Enter Holding (Per approach plate)

Q

Engine Failure in Flight

A

“MAKE THE WORLD RIGHT - PUSH ‘EM UP - CLEAN ‘EM UP - RAISE THE DEAD - IDENTIFY - VERIFY - RESTART / FEATHER”

Make the world right: Stop climbing, don’t let the bank angle increase.
Push ‘em up: Push the mixture, props and throttles to “full forward” (don’t over boost).
Clean ’em up: Retract the flaps to 10°, then get the landing gear up, then put the flaps up
Raise the dead: Bank away from the failed engine; up to 5° of bank into the good engine
Identify: Dead foot = dead engine
Verify: **Pull the dead engine back to idle to verify no additional loss of thrust

ENGINE FAILURE INFLIGHT
1. Airspeed – 89 KIAS
2. Throttles – FORWARD
3. Props – FORWARD
4. Mixtures – FORWARD
5. Flaps – UP
6. Gear – UP
7. Identify – dead foot, dead engine
8. Verify – with throttle

–“GAS” – Point at fuel selectors
–“AIR” – Point at the ALT Air levers
–“GAS” – Point at the mixture levers
–“MAGS” – Point at the correct side magnetos
–“ENGINE INSTRUMENTS” – Point at the correct side’s instruments including fuel gage
–“FUEL PUMP UNLATCH TO HIGH, IF IT DOESN’T START OFF” – Point at the fuel pump.
Feather: Tell the IP/DPE, “I would feather the L/R eng.” Then, read the rest of the feather checklist without doing anything until the DPE stops you.

TROUBLESHOOT/RESTART
1. Fuel Selectors – ON
2. Alternate Air – ON
3. Mixtures – RICH
4. Magnetos – CYCLE
5. Engine Gauges – CHECK
6. Fuel Quantity – CHECK
7. Fuel Pump, Dead Engine – UNLATCH to HIGH. If engine
