maneuvering guide Flashcards

1
Q

normal takeoff and climb

A

1.)ensure that the take off checklist is complete
2.)taxi into the takeoff position utilizing all the runway possible, verify the magnetic heading matches the assigned takeoff runway call out “runway verified”
3.)smoothly and countinusly apply full throttle, maintaining directional control and runway centerline with the rudder pedals.
4.) check eying instruments and tachometer (RPM) and cll out “in the green”
5.)at Vy (74kias) while maintaining the flight path over the runway center line trim if nessacery
6.) at Vr (55kias) call out “rotate” increase control yoke back pressure to pitch up until the top of the glaresheild meets the horizon (approx. 9-10 degrees)
7.) after liftoff establish and maintain Vy 74 Kias while maintaining the flight path over the runway centerline, using trim if necessary.
8.) with a positive rate of climb and no avaiblbe landing area reamiaing depress the brake pedals and call out positive rate”
9.) during the climb out (no less than 200’ AGL ) lower the nose momentarily to ensure that the airspace ahead is clear and then re-establihs and maintain Vy 74 Kias maintaining the flight path over the extended runway center line.
10.) at 500 AGL lower the pitch (approx. 7-8 degrees) to establish and maintain 85 Kias

Q

clearing turns

A

1.) verify that the fuel selector valve is in both
2.) set the mixture control as requires
3.)first 90 degree turn.
a.) visually scan the area to the left and to the right of the aircraft
b.) visually select a land mark off the tip of the wing in the direction of the turn to be executed as a 90 degree reference point to roll into.
c.) enter into a 30 dregree bank turning in the direction of the visual land marking
d.) continuously scan the area above , below, and ahead of the flight path
e.) after 90 degree of turn has been completed rollout of the wing level and selected landmark
4.) do the second 90 degree turn in the other direction.

Q

power-off stalls

A

1.) select an altitude where recovery will occur no lower than 1500’ AGL
2.) perform clearing turns and make a position report.
3.) reduce power to 1500 RPM adjusting pitch to maintain altitude.
4.) “below 110 flaps 10º”
5.) “below 85 flaps 20º to full”
6.) maintain altitude until reaching 70 Kias and then establish a stabilized desert at 65 kris to simulate normal approach landing 3ºdown
7.) depending lower than 200’ from the entry altitude simultaneously reduce the power to idle and slowly pitch up to the Vy attitude (approx. 9-10° degrees) in straight and level flight or in turns with to 20º degree bank
8.) after a fully developed stall cell out “stalling “ reduce the angle of attack to regain control affectedness and apply full power.
9.) maintain coordinated use of the ailerons and rudder to level the wing and prevent a spin.
10.) adjust the pitch tot eh Vy attitude 9-10 degrees retract the flaps 20º”flaps 20º”
11.) above 60 Kias retract the flaps to 10º degrees
12.) above 65 Kias retract the flaps to 0º degrees flaps up

Q

power on stall

A

1.) select an altitude where recovery will occur no lower than 1500’ AGL
2.) perform clearing turns and make a position report
3.) reduce power to 1500 RPM adjusting the pitch to maintain altitude
4.) at Vr 55 Kias set full power an slowly increase pitch up to approx 20 degrees in straight flight.
5.) after a fully developed stall call out “stalling” reduce the andle of attack to regain control effectiveness and apply full power
6.) maintain coordination use of the ailerons and rudder to level the wing and prevent entering into a spin.
7.) adjust pitch to a Vy attitude 9-10 degrees up

Q

steep turns

A

1.) perform clearing turns
2.) select a prominent visual reference pointdirectahead of the airplane and out towards the horizon
3.) adjust the pitch and power to maintain altitude and 90 Kias ( aprox. 2150 RPM)
4.) more the pitch and the attitude for level flight
5.) rolling through 40 degree bank increase the power (approx. 2250-2350) tp maintain airspeed while pitching up 1 degree to maintain altitude
6.) rolling through 30 degree bank increase power approx. 2150 RPM to maintain airspeed and decrease pitch to maintain altitude
7.) referencing the selcted visual point imitate your rollout approx. 20 -25 degrees before you heading
8.) transitions through 30 degrees of bank reduce power (approx. 2150 RPM to maintain altitude
9.) return to wing level flight at the entry heading and altitude and airspeed
