Maneuver Flows Flashcards
1
Q
Short-Field Takeoff
A
- Flaps 10 degrees.
- Use all available runway.
- Hold brakes.
- Full throttle.
- Check engine gauges.
- At full power-release brakes.
- Rotate to climb at 56 KIAS over 50’ obstacle.
- When clear of obstacle, accelerate Vy.
- Flaps 0 degrees.
- After takeoff checklist.
2
Q
Soft-Field Takeoff
A
- Flaps 10 degrees.
- Roll onto runway with full aft yoke - minimum braking - do not stop.
- Smoothly apply full power - check engine gauges.
- As nose lifts off, ease back pressure (Nose wheel must remain off ground).
- Lift off at lowest possible airspeed - remain in ground effect.
- In ground effect - accelerate to 62 KIAS (Vx) - begin climb.
- Accelerate to 74 KIAS (Vy).
- At safe altitude, retract flaps.
- After takeoff checklist.

Q
Steep Turns
A
- Clean configuration.
- Perform two 90 degree clearing turns.
- 90 KIAS (2000 RPM) maintain altitude.
- Perform a 360 turn with 45 degree bank.
- Maintain altitude and airspeed.
- Roll out of turn.
- Perform 360 turn at 45 degree in opposite.
- Roll out of turn.
- Swag

Q
Slow Flight
A
- Perform two 90 degree clearing turns.
- 1500 RPM (maintain altitude)
- Landing configuration flow.
- Maintain altitude - slow to 5-10 knots above stall speed. (Right above stall warning activation).
- Power as required to maintain altitude.
- Pitch to control airspeed.
- Recover - max power/maintain altitude/reduce flaps.
- Cruise checklist.
