are the ability to do something well, gained through training and experience.
communication how, what is it in business?
is the transfer of information from a sender to a receiver. can occur in non formal/formal and verbal and non verbal. Used to explain a vision, change, expectations of employees.
Delegation, what is it, 5 steps (AABCA)
when the authority and responsibility to carry out activities is transferred from manager to employee.

Step 4 - Control

Planning, what is it. 3 levels and describe them
refers to the ability to define business objectives and determine methods or strategies that will be used to achieve those objective.
Operational - details on day to day operation, management control the day, short term actions and objectives
Tactical- flexible, 1 to 2 years, support the implementation and allows quick change. Emphasises how business objectives will be achieved.
Strategic- 2 to 5 years, planning for where the business wants to be in market, achieve in relation to competition.
Leadership what is it, 2 types?
occur when the managers ability to influence or motivate people in the business to achive business objective.
Transactional - provides rewards in return for compliance and acceptance of authority. each memeber is unique
Transformational - inspires staff with a vision to ensure they are committed
Decision making, what is it, what analysis is used
involves identifying optiosn and then choosing the best course of action. SWOT analysis.
Interpersonal skills what is it?
refers to managements ability to deal with people and build positive relationships with staff. Can lead to high productivity and moral.
