Malfunctions
ENGINE OIL PRESS/ENG OIL HOT Caution Appears: Go to single engine airspeed, if oil pressure still low, shut engine off, jettison outer stores, land as soon as possible.
Lightening Strike - if DEC is destroyed, many indications will disappear from the MFD AND the TGT will increase by 112C (display can only show 999, so they subtract the value by 112 in the A/C and supplement). This is a biased value.
High speed shaft failure - NP on the engine will increase to 120% then flame out (DEC), Torque will go to 0, and the temperature will reduce! Establish single engine airspeed and shut down the correct engine (take a 5 full second pause), and monitor engine parameters as you take it down. (Check rotor speed for ALL engine malfunctions). Low NG, low TGT, High NP.
Compressor stall - establish single engine airspeed, 88-92% NG will open the start bleed valve and allow the excess air in the compressor to bleed and stop the supersonic airflow
Abort start - (starter should stay on between 52-65%) pull directly down on power control lever;
