FSH
Which hormones produce testosterone via the interstitial cells of the testes and subsequent sperm maturation?
LH or ICSH
Where is estrogen produced in the male?
Adrenal cortex (unknown role)
How is circulating testosterone controlled?
Negative feedback: Decreased testosterone, increases GNRH. FSH and ICSH then stimulated to produce more testosterone, sperm production and maturation.
How large is a normal prostate?
2-3 cm, 3 cm in length.

When would a prostate not have a sulcus?
Inflamed/infected or hypertrophied prostate is smooth and enlarged, no sulcus.
During the rectal exam, when a patient bears down, what are you testing for?
