Louise never recovered from the shock of Earl getting murdered, in 1937 she was committed to a mental institution for the next 26 years.

Only a few black students and when his teacher asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up he said a lawyer and his white teacher told him to be realistic and do carpentry Malcom dopped out of school the following year.

Moved to Bosten to live with his older half-sister she got him a job shining shoes at the Rosmary Ballroom and kitchen help but fell further into life of drugs and crime.
