Major Arteries And Veins Of Abdominopelvic Cavity Flashcards
Unpaired arteries
Do not have left and right variations
Unpaired arteries
Celiac trunk gives rise to left gastric, common hepatic, and splenic arteries. Super mesenteric artery provides blood for duodenum and transverse colon. Inferior mesenteric artery provides blood for large arteries
Paired arteries
Have both left and right variations.
Inferior phrenic artery provides blood for diaphragm and adrenal glands. Middle suprarenal artery provides blood to adrenal gland. Renal artery provides blood to kidneys to be filtered. Gonadal arteries deliver blood to gonads.
What happens at the end of paired arteries
Abdominal aorta branches to form common iliac arteries that supply blood to lower limbs
