A
  • open (universal, open for every state) vs. closed (geographically, certain criteria, economic aspects, colonial background, religions, economic system)
  • supranational (stands above MS, delegated sovereignty, binding, perhaps creation of rights) vs. intergovernmental (no transfer of sovereignty to IO from MS, non-binding)
  • political (broad goals, general objectives) vs. functional (narrowed scope)
