What must Reasonable Adjustments for Disabled Clients/Employees do?
Ensure that they are not placed at a substantial disadvantage compared to others.
Who pays for the reasonable adjustments?
The firm/solicitor. They must not pass the costs on.
Duty to Not Discriminate
Firms and solicitors must not unfairly discriminate by allowing personal views to affect their service.
Firms are also required to publish “workforce diversity data”
Duty to Not Abuse Position
Firms and solicitors must not abuse their position by taking unfair advantage of others.
Duty to Perform all Undertakings
You must perform all undertakings given by you within the agreed timescale (or within a reasonable time if no deadline given)
Duty to Not Mislead
You cannot mislead your client, the court, or others.
Elements of an Undertaking
(1) A statement (oral or in writing)
(2) To someone who reasonably relies on it
(3) That you (or a 3P) will do something
