How did Gandhi have an effect on the South African people?

A

Gandhi worked in SA as a lawyer. He saw that Indian people in SA at that time were not allowed to vote/ own land/ own houses. He thought that that was wrong and he used his idea of Satyagraha to lead people to protest peacefully. This idea stayed with the SA people after Gandhi left SA.
