field lines are used to represent the direction and stregth of a magnetic field

how dense they are (close tgh)

How can you use a compass to find the magnetic field on a magnet
A
- place the magnet on a peice of paper
- move the compass all around the magnet and mark where the needle points each time
- join up all the marks and this will display the field lines
