2. Laxatives
3. Decreased Renal insufficiency.
4. DKA

Increased excretion.
Hyperglycemia and insulin adm.
Sepsis.

Tx of Hypermagnesemia

Answer 6

Adm. loop diuretics
IV adm. Calcium gluconate or calcium chloride
Avoid laxatives
Use hemodialysis if severe.

Adm. Mg sulfate IV or PO
Place on seizure precautions
Instruct Pt increase foods in Mg.
