A

Increased intakes of Mg
1. Antacids
2. Laxatives
3. Decreased Renal insufficiency.
4. DKA

A

Insufficient intake.
Increased excretion.
Hyperglycemia and insulin adm.
Sepsis.

Tx of Hypermagnesemia

A

Adm. loop diuretics
IV adm. Calcium gluconate or calcium chloride
Avoid laxatives
Use hemodialysis if severe.
