16
Q

Where do we find metal elements on the periodic table?

A

On the left hand side.

17
Q

Describe some properties of metal elements.

A

Metals are shiny when polished, they are good conductors of both heat and electricity.
They are also malleable and ductile.

18
Q

What does malleable mean?

A

When a metal or other material is able to be hammered or pressed into shape without breaking or cracking.

19
Q

What does ductile mean?

A

When a metal can be drawn out into a thin wire.
It is stretched without losing toughness, pliable but not brittle.

20
Q

Describe the properties of non-metals

A

Non-metals have low melting and boiling points and are usually poor conductors of heat and electricity. Non-metals are usually brittle.
