Used in penicillin allergic pt for streptococcal, pneumonococcal, disseminated gonococcal disease/infections
Treatment/prophylaxis in: Carrier state of C. diphtheria, Chlamydia infection during pregnancy, Pneumonia (L. pneumonophilia, C. trachomatis), respiratory tract infections (M. pneumoniae)
Azithromycin uses
H. influenzae, M. pneumoniae, C. trachomatis
Clarithromycin uses
Peptide ulcer (in combination with amoxicillin and gastric acid inhibitor)
