Where does the reaction force act on a plank leaning against a wall?
A
Reaction forces act perpendicular to wall/floor at ends of plank.

Where does the friction act on a plank leaning against a wall?
A
If the wall/floor is rough it acts parallel to them, on the floor towards the plank and wall, and on the wall upwards away from it.

How to find the resultant force acting on a point?
A
Resolve perp and parallel to find two forces, then make a force triangle to solve total force.
