3 Types of Components:

Serviceable

No Damage, all system and functional checks are satisfactory, Required documents are available. Ready to be fitted to an aircraft

Unserviceable

Damage, checks are unsatisfactory, required documents are not available. These components should not be fitted to an aircraft

Unsalvageable

Some components can only be used for a certain time duration only. (even if its serviceable). Need to discard after certain period from the date of manufacture.

I,e Passenger Oxygen Mask only usable for 15 years only.
