cancer of cells in the lymphatic system
cells in lymph nodes, spleen, thymus are replaced by malignant cells
what are the 2 types of lymphoma?
Hodgkin’s and Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma
which lymphoma has Reed-Sternberg cells?
Hodgkin’s lymphoma
what is the difference between Hodgkin and Non-Hodgkin lymphoma?
Hodgkin’s spreads nearby and is rarely extra-nodal
Non-Hodgkin’s spreads further away and to extra-nodal sites e.g. skin, brain
name some symptoms extra-nodal spread with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma
GI: bowel obstruction
bone marrow: reduced RBC, WBC, platelets
spinal cord: compression

myeloma found in many parts of the bone marrow
what are the characteristic symptoms of multiple myeloma?

no - chronic incurable disease
