Lymphatics System Flashcards
Why is the lymph able to drain interstitial fluid
Dietary lipids absorbed by gastrointestinal tract in the blood
What is lymphatic plexuses
Network of lymphatic capillaries that originate in the extracellular spaces of most tissues
Why can fluid enter the lymphatic capillaries
formed by highly attenuated (less force) endothelium and because they lack a basement membrane many different components
What type of cells are lymphatic tissues
Specialised form of reticular connective tissue that composed of masses of lymphocyte
what do lots of small lymphatic vessels join to form
larger vessel which pass through nodes
What trunk
super and deeps vessels transverse lymph nodes
they cross proximally becoming longer and merge with vessels draining adjacent regions where their collection of vessels
where does the thoracic duct pass
posterior mediastinum of the thorax
what does the thoracic duct empty into
junction of the left subclavian and left jugular viens
What does the lymphatic drainage pathway communicate with
abdomen , pelvis and both lwoer limbs
where does the thoracic duct pass between
azegas vein and aorta
what does the paraaortic lymph nodes
such as renal nodes that drain the lymph from the kidneys
