What are the 4 main groups of superficial cervical lymph nodes?
Submental
Submandibular
External Jugular

What structures drain to the submental lymph nodes?
Drain bilateral from the lower lip, chin, floor of the mouth, apex of the tongue and mandibular incisors.
What structures drain to the submandibular lymph nodes?
Drain unilaterally from the cheeks, upper lip, body of the tongue, anterior hard palate, all the mandibular teeth apart from incisors and 3rd molars.
What signs of lymph nodes would suggest malignancy?
Hard, painless lymph nodes.
What signs of lymph nodes would suggest infection?
Swollen, tender lymph nodes.
