List causes of lymphadenopathy.
In situ proliferation of leukocytes (mostly lymphocytes, but also histiocytes and rarely, dendritic cells)
- Influx of lymphocytes from blood and lymph
- Infiltration by neoplastic cells
- Accumulation of abnormal substances of foreign or endogenous origin, usually phagocytosed by histiocytes
- Necrosis
- Suppuration
