ILS CAT II: what are the FCOM limitations?
- MDH……………………………………………………100’ AGL/RA
- At least 1 AP engaged in APPR and
- CAT 2, CAT3 SINGLE/DUAL must be displayed
- If performing an automatic approach, manual landing, AP must be disconnected not later than 80 ft AGL
ILS CAT III SINGLE (Fail Passive): what are the FCOM limitations?
- MDH…………………………………………………….50’ AGL/RA
- At leas 1 AP engaged in APPR and
- CAT 3 SINGLE/DUAL must be displayed on FMA
- Autoland MUST be made
- ATHR MUST be used, in either selected or managed speed

- A/THR MUST be used, selected or managed
- Alert Height……………………………………………….100’
CAT III with DH:
- min MDH……………………………………………………..20’
- AP’s…………………………..2 must be used in APPR
- FMA…………………………MUST show CAT 3 DUAL
CAT III NO DH:
- min RVR……………………………………………………..75m
- AP’s……………………………2 must be used in APPR
- FMA…………………………MUST show CAT 3 DUAL

- CAT II&III FAIL PASSIVE autoland only approved in CONFIG FULL
- and if engine out procedures are completed before 1000’ AGL in approach
- CHECK FCOM for A/C specific other limits!!!
A319 ENGINE OUT, LVO approaches: what are the AUTOLAND FCOM limitations? (Remember, CAT 3 SINGLE)
- CAT II&III FAIL PASSIVE autoland only approve in CONFIG 3 and FULL
- and if engine out procedures are completed before 1000’ AGL in approach
- CHECK FCOM for A/C specific other limits!!!
Outside of the fact that EZY wants you to request ATC in case of wanting to perform an autoland on a CAT I ILS beam, is the A319/320 capable of performing an autoland from a CAT I ILS beam?
YES!!!
Be aware of fluctuations and beam disturbances
Be ready to disconnect and manually take over
At least CAT2 should be displayed
Visual reference must still be obtained at CAT I minima
