HR for rotatores/increase rotation
sidelying (pillow under waist) therapist arm through elbow nook lean fwd to rotate pt torso backward pt contracts to bring torso front
HR for SB of lumbar spine
side lying legs 90/90 bring feet to ceiling sp drops bring feet to ground sp rises HR in direction that is stuck
Psoas trigger point release
hook lying gently work way down to psoas work there or hold and have pt straighten leg
Hip flexor hold relax focusing on psoas
mod thom position 50/50 stretch hand on thigh and psoas in stomach pt contracts into hip flexion
iliolumbar ligament release
pt sidelying find lig (lat to tp l4/5) make them lie on your hand lean back and change angles to release it
global myofascial release of low back
prone pillow under hips cross hand 50/50 sink in and spread
Mackensie Extension Protocol
- prone (may need pillow under hips) 10’
- partial press up to forearms (asis on table) 10’
- full press up cobra (asis on table) 10x 8x/day
- standing extension 30s 8x/day
- cat cow seated 15-20x 3x/day
- bilat knee to chest 10x2s 8x/day
Williams Flexion Protocol
- pelvic tilt 10s
- single knee to chest alt 10s
- double knee to chest 5s
- partial sit up 2s
- seated hams stretch
- HF stretch 30s
- deep squat
paraspinals self MFR
supine with roller under bcak
roll from iliac crests to scap
Spine/SI jnt mob on swiss ball
sitting on swiss ball
do SIJ mob w/o moving shoulders
allow shoulders to follow movement
distal hamstring nerve floss
supine knee to chest
DF and extend, PF and bend
6-10 reps
proximal hamstring nerve floss
supine and max SLR
DF/PF ankle 6-10x
prone dural stretch
prone
hand on lumbar and on calcaneus
lean forward to put on stretch
wait for release 30-90s
lumbar central or unilateral PA
start with grade 1 to warm up before going deeper
20-60 oscilations (1-2min)
use pisiform
General rotation mobilization using pelvis
pt prone
oscillate hip with one hand
other hand guides the sp into the rotation
