Lumbar II Flashcards
Neuro exam of L4-5, S1 nerve roots
. Standing exam: gait, osture, landmarks, lat. and AP curves, AROM, PROM in all 3 planes, PSS, standing flexion
. Seated exam: seated flexion, A/PROM of lumbar motion in all planes, segmental diagnosis
. Supine exam: landmarks, pelvic girdle, modified Thomas
. Prone: landmarks, iliolumbar ligament, prone psoas test, gross motion testing, segmental diagnosis in 3 planes
Prone testing gross motion
. Rotate entire torso w/ both hands
. Laterally translate torso for sidebending
. Fl/extension: push ant. On spine
Trauma influence on motion testing
. Segment doesn’t conform to physiologic principles of motion
. Segment rotating and sidebending at opposite sides most common at L5 typical of trauma
