lumbar and sacral plexus Flashcards
what forms of the lumbar plexus?
anterior rami of L1 - L4
what are the 6 nerves of lumbar plexus?
I - iliohypogastric
Imagine - ilioinguinal
Getting - genitofemoral
Laid - lateral femoral cutaneous
On - obturator
Fridays -femoral
what are the nerve roots of the nerves of the lumbar plexus?
2 from 1, 2 from 2, 2 from 3:
2 from 1 = iliohypogastric + ilioinguinal from anterior rami of L1
2 from 2 = genitofemoral from the anterior rami of L1 + L2
2 from 2 = lateral femoral cutaneous from the anterior rami of L2 + L3
2 from 3 = obturator and femoral from the anterior rami of L2-L4
what forms the sacral plexus?
anterior rami of L4 - S4
what are the nerves of the sacral plexus?
superior gluteal nerve
inferior gluteal nerve
posterior femoral
pudendal
what are the nerve roots of the nerves of the sacral plexus?
superior gluteal (+ nerve to quadratus femoris) = anterior rami of L4-S1
inferior gluteal (+ nerve to obturator internus) = anteiror rami of L5-S2
posterior femoral cutaneous nerve = anterior rami of S1-S3
puderndal nerve = anterior rami of S2-S4
sciatic nerve = anterior rami of L4-S3
nerve to piriformis = anterior rami of S1+S2
Of the sciatic nerve, what are the nerve roots for the common fibular and tibial nerve?
Common fibular = L5-S2
Tibial = L4 - S3
