LSA Cargo Ship:

- On each side, one or more life-boats to accommodate total number certified to carry
- Life-Rafts for 100% of ships crew that can be transferred to either side. If cannot be transferred, then 100% on each side
- Total survival craft capacity 300-400%
- If survival craft more than 100m from stem to stern, then additional life-raft stowed as far forward or aft as possible

- Every vessel to carry line throwing apparatus
- Every vessel to carry no less than 12 rocket parachute flares
LSA Cargo Ship:
Lifejackets?
- One life-jacket suitable for a person weighing 32kg or more for total number ship is certified to carry
- For every person less than 32kg, a life-jacket or never less than 2 on ship certified to carry children
- Sufficient life-jackets for those on watch or at remote locations. At least 4 where crew is below 16, and 25% if above 16.
- Inflatable life-jackets for crew of rescue boat

Under 100m - 8

- At least one lifebuoy with buoyant line
- Not less than 50% with self-igniting lights
- 2 with self-activating smoke and quick release from bridge

Survival Craft?
- Total survival craft capacity to be 125%
- On each side, enough lifeboat capacity for half the total persons certified to carry
- Or lifeboats & life-rafts with the capacity to accommodate total persons ship is certified to carry (lifeboats to accommodate 37.5% of total persons ship is certified to carry on each side as minimum)
- Life-rafts to be carried for 25% of the total persons ship is certified to carry
LSA Passenger Ship:
Lifejackets?
- One life-jacket suitable for a person weighing 32kg or more for total number ship is certified to carry
- For every person less than 32kg, a life-jacket or 10% of total persons certified to carry
- Sufficient life-jackets for those on watch or at remote locations. At least 4 where crew is below 16, and 25% if above 16.
- Inflatable life-jackets for crew of rescue boat
- Additional 5% of 32kg lifejackets for those on watch or at remote locations
LSA Cargo Ship:
Survival Craft Launching Requirements?
- Launched with trim up to 10 degrees
- Launched with list up to 20 degrees
- Launched with ship making headway of 5 knots in calm seas
- Total abandonment within 10 minutes of alarm being sounded

- At least one lifebuoy with buoyant line
- Not less than 50% with self-igniting lights
