FUNCTION: adduction extension and rotation (thigh)
Biceps femoris (both heads)
FROM: linea aspera and lateral supracondylar line of femur (short) and ischial tuberosity (long)
TO: lateral side of head of fibula and lateral condyle of tibia
FUNCTION: Extension (leg & thigh) and lateral flexion (leg)
Popliteus
FROM: lateral epicondyle of femur
TO: soleal/popliteal line of tibia
FUNCTION: medial rotation and flexion (leg)
Gastrocnemius
FROM: two heads superior to each articular surface of the condyles of the femur
TO: posterior calcaneus via calcaneal tendon
FUNCTION: flexion (knee & foot)
