Anatomy of Lower Airway
A
- Trachea splint in two Bronchus (Carina)
- Right stem (Bronchus) is shorter & in a straighter angle
- Right lung has 3 Lobes. Left lung has 2
- Each Lung is encased inside the pleural sac
- The right & left main stem bronchus splits into 10 bronchi on each side
- This bronchi split further into bronchioles
- At the end of each bronchioles are Alveolar sacs
- These Alveolar Sacs are composed of tiny Alveoli which are then covered by pulmonary capillaries
- Pulmonary Capillaries are responsible for:
- Gas exchange
- Nutrient Transport
- Neutrophil margination
