Anatomy of Lower Airway

A
  1. Trachea splint in two Bronchus (Carina)
  2. Right stem (Bronchus) is shorter & in a straighter angle
  3. Right lung has 3 Lobes. Left lung has 2
  4. Each Lung is encased inside the pleural sac
  5. The right & left main stem bronchus splits into 10 bronchi on each side
  6. This bronchi split further into bronchioles
  7. At the end of each bronchioles are Alveolar sacs
  8. These Alveolar Sacs are composed of tiny Alveoli which are then covered by pulmonary capillaries
  9. Pulmonary Capillaries are responsible for:
    - Gas exchange
    - Nutrient Transport
    - Neutrophil margination
