24000 new homes built
jubilee line extended to service the isle of dogs
new facilities such as sailing and water sports, Surrey quays shopping complex.
new school and collages built, existing school improved.
what went wrong?
current residents were priced out and had to move out, just moved the problem on elsewhere.
tension between new and old residents resulting in crime and violence.
new jobs aren’t accessable for the old residents.
new services catered towards the new residents.
controversy?
out of all the new homes, only 4000 were affordable which was a fraction of the 45000 population.
