A

“Chartered” - this word is repeated a lot. What the poet is trying to get across is the fact that people in London own nothing at all and that they couldn’t live their lives properly.

“Blackening church appalls”- this phrase is stating that the catholic church is corrupt and full of evil

“Marriage herse”- Blake uses a oxymoron to show that good things like marriage is ruined and killed
