Adjective -
Definition - used to show that there is a single one or very few of something, or that there are no others:
Horses are the only animals that are strong. Horses (y) are the only animals (x) that are strong.
If you’re a strong animal, then you are a horse. If you’re not a horse, then you are not a strong animal.

A
Manical and over the top performances are the only effective ones.
If it’s an effective performance, then it was manical and over the top.
If it was not manical and over the top, then it was not effective.
