It is in a rectangular shape. Has a shaft called the diaphysis and has two ends called the epiphysis. e.g. Femur.
Description of a short bone?
Cube-like shape. e.g. Tarsals.
Description of a flat bone?
It is curved but has a flat surface. e.g. Cranium.
Description of an irregular bone?
Complex shapes. e.g. Vertebrae.
Description of a sesamoid bone?
An unusual shape but sits in tendons. e.g. Patella.
